Each November, young pipers and drummers compete in the only junior solo championship in the US for national trophies and other valuable awards. Throughout the year, our supporters and members celebrate western Pennsylvania’s Scottish and Irish heritage at our fundraising events in honor of our young musicians.
We hope you can join in supporting our young musicians by attending one of our musical gatherings. All events are sponsored by Balmoral School of Piping & Drumming, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and our very generous supporters.
US Junior Solo Piping & Drumming Championships(Saturday, November 13, 2010, 9am-5pm)

Battlefield Band in Concert (Saturday, November 13, 2010, 8pm)
Come see and hear the band named “Best Live Act” at the Scots Trad Music Awards in Edinburgh, Scotland. Inspired by their rich musical heritage and fired by the strength of the modern Scottish cultural scene, the Battlefield Band are true pioneers for contemporary Scottish traditional music. National Tartan Day Celebration at the Duquesne Club (Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 7pm)
Come celebrate Tartan Day, a national holiday to honor Scottish heritage in the United States. Our 2010 event featured a free whisky tasting by Piper’s Pub, music by fiddle player Oliver Browne and Friends, and performances by world champion piper Alasdair Gillies and the Pittsburgh Scottish Country Dance Society.
